Terms of Use

By downloading or using CardSnap MTG ("the App") on iOS or Android, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Description of Service

CardSnap MTG lets you scan Magic: The Gathering cards with your device's camera to identify them, track them in a personal collection and wish list, follow their prices, and import or export your collection for Moxfield and Archidekt. Card data, images, and prices are retrieved from Scryfall's public API.

2. Subscriptions

The App offers a free tier (limited daily scans, collection size, wish-list size, and import/export rows, with price alerts covering a limited set of cards) and an optional auto-renewing Premium subscription (monthly or annual) that removes those limits.

On iOS: payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price you agreed to at purchase. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID account settings.

On Android: payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period, at the price you agreed to at purchase, until you cancel. Manage or cancel anytime in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions, or from the App's Account Status screen. Switching between monthly and annual plans is done from within the App.

All billing is handled by Apple or Google. We can't process payments, cancellations, or refunds directly; refund requests go to Apple or Google under their policies. A subscription bought on one platform does not carry over to the other.

3. Third-Party Card Data

Card names, images, rules text, and pricing are sourced from Scryfall and, ultimately, Wizards of the Coast. We don't control or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of this data.

4. Store Links & Price Estimates

The Buy feature opens third-party stores (TCGplayer, Mana Pool, Card Kingdom, and CoolStuffInc) with your card list. Estimated costs come from Scryfall and the stores' public price lists, may be out of date, and exclude shipping and tax. Any purchase is between you and the store, under the store's own terms. We aren't affiliated with any store and receive no commission.

5. Price Alerts

Price alerts are informational. They depend on Scryfall's data and on when your device lets the App check in the background, so an alert may be late or missed. Don't rely on them for buying or selling decisions.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to violate any law, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the App, or use automated means to extract data from it beyond normal use.

8. Your Collection Data

Your collection and wish list are stored locally on your device. We don't have access to them and aren't responsible for data loss from deleting the App, replacing your device, or similar events. Use the App's backup options (iCloud on iOS; Google backup or a backup file on Android) or export your collection periodically to keep a copy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee scan accuracy, uninterrupted access, or that identified cards, prices, or estimates are error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
